EMDR Therapy

“We repeat what we don’t repair.”
-Christine Langley-Obaugh

Do you experience…

  • Anxiety, worry, or obsessive thinking?
  • Indecisiveness, confusion, or difficulty concentrating?
  • Self-blame?
  • Self-consciousness, insecurities, or low self-esteem?
  • Shame or guilt?
  • Unexplainable anger or sadness?
  • Irritability, pessimism, or negativity?
  • Self-sabotage?
  • Repeated self-defeating patterns?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then EMDR therapy can help you. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy helps people who feel stuck in the past, stuck in their relationships, and stuck in their life. EMDR is a therapeutic model that heals the mind by treating pain stemming from past disturbing life events.

Our body has the amazing capability to heal itself.

Consider this: if you cut your finger, your body will naturally begin the healing process. The brain works the same way, unless there is a disturbing event that blocks the process. For example, if you get a splinter in your finger, your skin will naturally heal over the splinter, but every time you press on the splinter (trigger), you experience pain. Trauma acts the same way in our minds.

When the trigger is removed, the mind heals itself and the distress associated with a traumatic memory.

Self-defeating beliefs about yourself, the world around you, or past traumatic experiences can get buried in the sub-consciousness and cripple you from reaching your maximum potential.

When past traumas and negative beliefs are processed and released, your confidence, creativity, and inner resources naturally increase, setting you free and allowing you to be the best version of yourself.

EMDR Therapy has been successful in treating:

  • Panic and anxiety
  • Work stress
  • Relationship issues
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Phobias
  • Improved social skills
  • Performance anxiety (for athletes, performers and students)
  • Managing compulsive behaviors
  • Procrastination
  • Depression
  • And much, much more

Whether your goals are personal or professional, they direct your daily decisions and actions, and achieving them can help you to authentically live your best life. We often have the drive, knowledge, and ability to be successful; however, we can get in the way of ourselves through unexplainable blocks and negative beliefs. This keeps us from realizing our full potential. EMDR helps us to identify these barriers and then rid of them. We are not changing what happened, we are changing the way it lives inside of us.

We won’t just “talk” about your problems; we’ll overcome them together.
